To celebrate
the 10th Anniversary of Red Dwarf, the BBC held a special 2 hour Red Dwarf Night filled with fun and excitement for all Dwarfers. The Friday night saw the airing of 'The End: ReMastered', the digitally enhanced version
of the series pilot episode. The real entertainment began on the Saturday with
host Patrick Stewart, a self confessed Dwarfer, kicking off the festivities with:
Can't Smeg,
Won't Smeg: An outrageous spoof of the BBC's Can't Cook, Won't Cook with host Ainsley Harriot trying to supervise the gang
cooking up a storm.
Smeg Ups: A
compilation of the goofs from the Smeg Ups and Smeg Outs videos.
Red Dwarf Universe
Challenge: Presented by Bamber Gascoigne, the cast took on the fans in a question-and-answer session about the show.
Red Dwarf A
to Z: The complete alphabetical list of everything Dwarfy. Guests including Patrick Stewart and Stephen Hawking share what
they love best about the show.
Finally, the
night ended with a showing of 'Gunmen of the Apocalypse', what better way to end the night than by watching the Emmy Award
winning episode.
The Daleks
made an appearance in the "Red Dwarf A to Z" topic "E for Exterminate" giving their views on the show. There had been rumours
that the writers planned on featuring the Daleks in one episode of the series but could not obtain the rights too them. The ingredients from Can't Smeg Wont Smeg: A dead space weevil - from Legion Urine

he originally planned on suing the show. While staying in England at the time, Stewart who was watching the T.V. in his hotel
room came across the show which he believed to his horror and outrage (as he so put it) was a rip-off of his show Star Trek,
The Next Generation. He was already reaching for his phone to call his lawyer when something happened in the show that made
him laugh. After that Stewart put down the phone and continued to watch it. He then realized how different the show was to
Star Trek and eventually became a fan.
