Hercules is the son of Zeus and a mortal woman. Zeus's wife Hera is jealous and causes Hercules to go mad and kill his wife and children. The remorseful Hercules decides to use his superhuman strength to aid humanity. He is often helped by his friend Iolaus and the roguish but good-hearted merchant Salmoneus.
