Soul Trade

Just as some people collect football cards or soft toys, some people collect souls. An unconscious child leads Angel, Cordelia and Doyle to a horrifying black market where the soul of an innocent child is one of the most eagerly-sought items by demonic dealers.

Bruja

A new supernatural challenge on the streets of Los Angeles for Angel - the vampire with a soul. Even the streetwise populace of Los Angeles is stunned when a priest is attacked by a woman who confesses to the murder of her own son. At the same time, Angel Investigations turns up reports of a madwoman who appears at gang fights, playgrounds and flophouses frequented by teenage runaways...She seems to be everywhere. She is a 'bruja' - a witch - and the living embodiment of La Llorona - the 'weeping woman' who plays such a central role in Spanish lore. Wherever she is, a trail of death follows her. The priest lapses into a coma. Doyle is wracked by visions of a young mother and her son in danger, down by the dockside. Cordelia finds herself on the trail of a film producer's missing wife. It is up to Angel to find the connection between them before he is stopped by the phantom whose touch brings death...and all of them are running out of time.

The Summoned

A new supernatural challenge on the streets of Los Angeles for Angel - the vampire with a soul. Everyday life has its pitfalls when you're a half-demon plagued by visions. Doyle is in the supermarket when the latest vision hits him, but as usual it reveals only a handful of clues. Fear. Fire. Death...and an ornately engraved amulet. When Doyle regains his senses he finds he is being tended by Terri Miller, a shy girl from a small town who is newly arrived in LA and feeling overwhelmed by the big city. But no sooner has Doyle thanked and left her than she is befriended by a stranger, a charismatic young man who invites her to meet his companions at a club to which they belong. Meanwhile Angel Investigations are on the trail of a savage killer. Before long they discover the victims share something in common: several have connections to Terri's newfound friends. Then Cordelia finds herself in possession of a mysterious amulet that somehow looks awfully familiar...

Haunted

An old dark house turns out to be home to something a good deal nastier than things that go bump in the night...An impoverished Cordelia jumps at the chance to win a ton of money by appearing on a 'Survivor' meets 'Real World' reality television show. She can't wait to supplement the meagre cash she makes from saving the world day in and day out. The catch? All she has to do is spend a week in a 'haunted' house, surviving all manner of evil doings staged by the producers. But a mind-numbing vision from The Powers That Be reveals to her that this house is in fact the staging ground for an event more gruesome and dangerous than anything the TV production crew can dream up: a real live ritual sacrifice to a demonic presence. Now Angel, Wesley and Gunn have to get themselves into the house in order to stop the ritual. And the only way in is by going through LA's most demonic law firm: Wolfram and Hart.

Image

A chance encounter with a roomful of portraits brings Angel face to face with a long-forgotten figure from his and Darla's past While Cordelia has a vision of a small child being attacked by a repulsive tentacled demon, Gunn goes to the rescue of a young artist whose studio is under threat from vampires. When Angel arrives on the scene, he is startled to find that the subjects of some of the portraits are known to him. Their memory is linked to an evening long ago that he and Darla spent in the company of a female storyteller and her poet husband - Mary and Percy Shelley. And Angel recalls a painter that Darla once favoured. How could the same artist still be alive today...? The mystery takes Angel back in time to the days when he and Darla roved across all of Europe, killing as they went. This time, though, his intention is very different - to save the life of a single innocent child.

Stranger To The Sun

A supernatural thriller based on the cult hit television series shown on both Sky and Channel 4. When Wesley opens a package that arrives at Angel Investigations by special delivery, he immediately falls into a coma. It's clear he's fallen victim to some kind of magic spell, and Angel sets off with Gunn to find out who or what could be behind the attack. No easy task, since it turns out that everyone who could possibly help them -- from magic-shop owners to the LAPD -- has been affected by the same supernatural slumber. Meanwhile, Cordelia uncovers a Vampire plot to plunge the Earth into constant darkness, so that the denizens of the night might assert their power without fear of daylight. It's up to her to help prevent it...But while she tends to the still-unconscious Wesley it becomes clear that he is in the throes of a terrifying nightmare. If she cannot rouse him it may be the end -- for him as well as the rest of humankind.

Vengeance

A charismatic self-help guru promises she has the key to a perfect world. But it's midnight in the Garden of Eden, and the original evil is after Angel's soul...Lost Angeles is a city divided between the haves and the have-nots, and those that have it seem to have it all: tanned good looks, fit physiques, celebrity, flashy cars, high-tech toys, and then some. It's little wonder that the have-nots tend to get tired of standing on the sidelines...Enter Lily Pierce, a motivational speaker whose New Life Foundation message is sweeping the country. Her mantra is simple: "Erase doubt. Erase fear. Become pure of purpose. Perfect in execution. Attain your dreams." But Lily is guarding a secret of truly mythic proportions. Even Wolfram and Hart -- the sinister law firm whose machinations lie behind much of Los Angeles' evil -- want to stop the rising insanity: and incredibly, they are looking to Angel for help. Can he work with the very people who have tried to hard to destroy him? And is Lily's promise of a perfect world for all who embrace her vision too tempting for Angel to fight against?

Endangered Species

When a mysterious hunter asks for his help, a twist of fate offers Angel the chance to atone for his years of evil once and for all -- but only at the cost of his own destruction. Courtesy of The Powers That Be, Cordelia Chase has grown used to her excruciatingly painful visions, but that doesn't mean that they leave her unmoved. So when her latest vision shows her someone she knows, and not just another anonymous stranger, she finds it more than usually disturbing -- especially since the subject of her vision is rogue slayer, Faith. Faith is in jail, but if the vision comes true, that could turn out to be the least of her problems...Then hunter Chaz Escobar shows up at Angel Investigations, asking for their help. He wants to track down his wife, Marianna -- and she's a vampire. Alone with her on a small and distant island, Escobar had been working to find a cure. Before he could succeed, however, she escaped him, and now he suspects that she is the creature stalking Faith. But Escobar has a hidden agenda, and before long Angel, Cordy, Wesley and Gunn discover that his real aim is to rid the world of vampires -- all of them, forever; even those who possess a soul. If Angel is willing to sacrifice himself in order to help the hunter achieve his goal, then his atonement will truly be complete...

The Longest Night, Vol. 1

Hour by hour and evil by evil, this short story collection takes Angel and his colleagues one by one through one dramatic night. December 21 - the winter solstice. The time when the sun is at its weakest, and the longest night of the year. The undead equivalent of New Year's Eve, it's the night when those who live for the darkness all want to come out and party. Consequently it's a VERY busy night indeed for Angel Investigations. There may be no rest for the wicked -- but there's certainly no rest for those who are sworn to protect the world against them. THE LONGEST NIGHT follows the individual trials of Angel, Cordelia, Wesley, Gunn and newcomer Fred as they battle to keep the forces of evil at bay.

Impressions

A new sect of demons is after one innocent human, while an imposter is taking on Angel's role and setting up shop in his place. An otherwise peaceful day at Angel Investigations is disrupted by the sudden arrival of a desperate young man with a demon at his heels. When the team destroy the monster it decomposes on the spot, leaving them no clues as to either its identity or its agenda. Nor is the young man much help -- he has already been the victim of a stolen identity scam in which someone pretending to be Angel has left him with a deep suspicion of the real thing. The ancient stone he possesses could hold some answers, but he's none too keen on handing it over for strangers to examine. Meanwhile Lorne reports a seriously bad feeling emanating from Caritas -- normally a haven where demons of all persuasions can relax -- and Angel is increasingly disturbed that someone else has borrowed his persona for purposes unknown. As things become ever weirder, is it just random chaos or is everything connected? And will the real Angel please stand up...?

Sanctuary

When one of Angel's companions is kidnapped, can the testimony of demons be trusted? Of all the demon infested karaoke dives in all the dimensions in the universe they had to walk into Lorne's...During a brief respite from their active day jobs the employees at Angel Investigations find themselves frequenting Lorne's demon karaoke bar. But their moment of relaxation is cut short when a loud explosion draws them - and the rest of the bar's patrons - outside. The building opposite has become a towering inferno, but the conflagration is nothing more than a diversionary tactic to distract from a drive-by shooting. When the chaos subsides, Angel discovers that Fred is missing. It seems that she has been kidnapped, so the staff of Angel Investigations spring back into action. Angel, Lorne, Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn question everything on the scene. The good news is at least ten demons were direct eyewitnesses, but one problem emerges: Each tells a different version of events. It could have been gang warfare on monster territory, or Fred could have simply wandered home without saying goodbye. As they desperately try to track her down, one thing becomes clear; demons are far from reliable sources of information.

Fearless

Robbed of his supernatural healing properties, will Angel still be hero enough to save his friends? The staff at Angel Investigation are well-versed in the nuances of demon-fighting. So they're surprised to find themselves euphorically giddy after a long night of...what? Their clothes are bloody and torn and their bodies are battered, but their memories of how they got that way are the evening's most notable casualties. Research determines that they've been doused with a kind of demon pixie dust, known as Fearless, that has helped them heal. Angel, however, is having the opposite post-battle experience. After years of superhuman healing, he's suddenly recovering from a fight with all the resilience -- or lack thereof -- of an average human being. Shaken and reluctant to confide in his friends, Angel is reduced to secret-keeping and collaboration with newfound demon cohorts. If his friends go in search of their next dose of Fearless, will Angel be strong enough to protect them?

Solitary Man

Widow Mildred Finster is a life-long fan of mystery and suspense. When she decides, at the tender age of 71, that she'd like to become a private detective herself, she knows there's more to sleuthing than is revealed in her favourite books. She has found a card for Angel Investigations and thinks the name sounds very sweet. After all, she loves angels and has a large collection of figurines. What could be more perfect? The staff of Angel investigations are hip-deep in their own personal problems, so when Mildred offers her services, they don't have much time for her. And when a truckload of antiquities from a local Mission is stolen and ransacked, they don't get too worked up over what is obviously a simple theft. But nothing in LA is that simple, and the arrival of some ruthless killers from overseas finally gets the gang's attention. Now they are followed at every turn by a well-meaning old lady, fighting off attacks from poltergeists, and trying to set their personal differences aside to defeat a supernatural foe before a centuries-old mystery reaches its final chapter.

Nemesis

When an old friend from graduate school asks her for help with her job at a top scientific facility, Fred is torn between apprehension at renewing ties to her past and regret for the quiet life she might have led as a physicist entrenched in laboratory research. But on the night they are supposed to meet, her friend is gunned down in cold blood -- seemingly the innocent victim of a mob hit gone wrong. Meanwhile Angel and Co. have been called upon to solve a series of grisly murders. Someone is taking out spellcasters who have, until now, been instrumental in preventing an apocalyptic breach of the barriers which separate our reality from that of other, more deadly dimensions. Fred has a different mission, taking the place of her friend in order to find out the truth behind her death. But when the worlds of scientific research and supernatural killings begin to collide, it is up to her to piece the puzzle together and find the link that will help them save the world.

Dark Mirror

In his two hundred years and more on Earth, Angel has seen his share of imitators. Some have been kindly, misguided people intrigued by the business of being a private investigator. Others have been not-so-kindly if equally misguided people drawn by the lure of the undead unlife. But he's never encountered a true double -- until now. Enter Angel the Second. And Fred 2.0. And Wesley Redux. And so on. A steady parade of perfect clones arrives at Angel Investigations, none of them looking for help. They want the original models dead. And if Angel, Lorne and the others can't band together to find out where the replicas are coming from and why, a murder spree that starts in their lobby might spread to the entire city. But how do you defeat an opponent who knows your thoughts, your battle plans, your doubts, your darkest fear. How is Angel going to defeat -- himself?

Monolith

Like any parent, Angel wants to understand his son. But it's hard when their different lifestyles keep getting in the way. Angel is overworked, Connor's embarrassed by Angel's taste for blood, and to make things worse Hyconian demons are running wild through the streets of L.A. There's not a lot of time for bonding -- and there's even less when a gigantic monolith appears out of thin air, right in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard. Nobody knows what to make of the massive rock with two demon faces etched into its surface. News stations think it is all an elaborate stunt to publicise a movie. Religious extremists hail it as a sign of impending doom. But one thing is certain: as Angel Investigations struggles to make sense of the menacing rock and its meaning, Angel and Connor will have to work together to survive.

Book Of The Dead

Wesley has been a compulsive reader since childhood, with a particular fascination for the unusual and the arcane. It's an addiction like any other -- he craves books, loves them, can't live without them. So when a former colleague comes to town and invites him to a highly secret auction of rare occult texts, how could he resist? Unknown to Wesley, his colleague has sworn to avenge his father's death -- a death which has something to do with the theft of priceless books from the Watcher's Council. And Wesley himself has a stroke of luck; after which things take a sudden turn for the worse. He buys a box of old books which just happens to contain one of the most famous books of magick ever collected. The Red Compendium is known for the way in which it completely absorbs all those who read it -- and Wesley is no exception. Soon he finds he can no longer put it down...

Love And Death

A vigilante mob is killing demons in Los Angeles -- and they can't tell the bad from the good.; Incited by an outspoken radio host, a mob of vigilantes has descended Los Angeles intent on ridding the city of the demons which they believe have overrun it. To Angel and his fellow fighters of evil, the vigilante killers are more of a hindrance than a help. Intent on solving a grisly and harrowing murder, at first they fail to realise that the angry mob is becoming a serious issue -- let alone how much danger they themselves are in. Then Lorne is attacked and almost killed and Connor disappears. The mob isn't stopping to ask which demons are on the side of good and which are not. Or maybe they just don't care. Maybe anyone with a trace of demonic blood is fair game to them -- and that includes the vampire with a soul...

Her family are recent immigrants to America, and now she fears that her brother, in an attempt to gain social acceptance, has stumbled into gang warfare. Not just any gang warfare, either: this battle has a supernatural dimension. To make matters worse, an unknown creature is stalking the streets of Sunnydale - a creature that Buffy is sure has its roots on Angel's home streets of L.A. Meanwhile, in the City of Angels, Cordelia stumbles upon a cult of runaway kids who worship vampires and Angel investigates an invisible presence which has been causing havoc in the local prisons. As Buffy and Angel pool information about their respective discoveries, it soon becomes clear that there has to be a connection...With action taking place in both Los Angeles and Sunnydale, The Burning is the beginning of a fabulous new crossover series which will continue with Unseen 2: The Door To Alternity in August 2001 and Unseen 3: The Long Way Home in October.

Unseen 2: The Door To Alternity

Part two of the three-volume crossover series featuring Buffy and Angel. In Los Angeles, the pair compare notes and realise that both are dealing with cases of missing teenagers, most of them children of rich and powerful parents. Coincidence? Or is there something more sinister at work?

Unseen 3: The Long Way Home

This title concludes a three-volume crossover series which uses characters and settings from both Buffy and Angel. Buffy and Angel are stuck in an alternate reality where dragons and monsters rule. In the homeworld chaos is rife, Buffy and Angel must find a way home before it's too late.

Monster Island

When Angel first came to Los Angeles, it was the fast-talking, half-demon Irish-American Doyle who first explained to him the mission for which he was destined: the saving of lost souls. All the more ironic, then, that Doyle himself was the one Angel couldn't save. Reconciled at last to the heritage he had long denied, Doyle sacrificed his life to save a shipload of helpless, peaceable demons from a Nazi-style extermination crew. But Doyle's legacy lies not only in the gift of visions he bequeathed to Cordelia with their one and only kiss. Unaware of their danger, Angel and co. are unprepared for the visitor at their door. Intending to free him from what he sees as the human taint that has always held him back, Doyle's demon father, Axtius, is none too pleased to find instead that his wayward son is dead. Meantime in Sunnydale someone apart from the Slayer is slaying. The victims, strangely, all appear to be human-demon half-breeds. The trail leads Buffy to Los Angeles, where before long she and Angel find themselves in the front line to stop an avenging fury from wholesale slaughter...

Seven Crows

Buffy and Angel join forces once again to repel an evil that crosses both borders and time...and the presence of Buffy's other ex-boyfriend Riley racks up the tension even more. One for sorrow, two for mirth; three a wedding, four a birth; five for silver, six for gold, seven crows a secret never to be told...In a small town on the borders of Arizona and Mexico, Agent Riley Finn and his wife Sam are on the trail of a far-from-ordinary smuggling ring. To their surprise, their call for reinforcements is answered by Riley's ex-girlfriend, the Slayer, Buffy Summers, and Angel, the vampire with a soul. Tempers flare in the heat of the day -- and night -- as bodies begin to turn up out in the desert. Some are drained of blood, while others have met their deaths in another manner altogether. Curiously, the area seems to have an abundance of crows, and more are arriving all the time, like ominous portents of some unknown doom. But even Mr Secret Agent Man finds it hard to concentrate on the job at hand when his wife and Angel team up to go undercover.

Cursed

Spike discovers that someone has put a hit out on him, and sets out to find this person/thing. The trail leads him to LA, where Angel is enmeshed in a case involving a stolen box from a museum. The box is one that Angel recognises from his brutal days as Angelus, as he travelled Europe with William the Bloody, a.k.a. Spike, in tow. Now the two reformed vampires, both of them exes of the Slayer, must team up -- albeit reluctantly -- to find out who from their past is challenging their present.

Heat

In his first year in Los Angeles, Angel encountered Jheira, a hunter from another dimension whose fiery emotions cause men to fall under her spell. Four years later he is astonished to find the fugitive Jheira again -- and disconcerted to find that her power over men is as strong as it was before. Someone else is looking for Jheira -- hoping that she will help him to thaw an army of demon soldiers: souls of the damned entombed beneath the eternal ice in a frozen and desolate hell. And in a museum in Los Angeles, on loan from China, one of the world's great archaeological treasures stands waiting. Thousands of warriors sculpted in terracotta, looking as if they could come to life any moment. Meantime in Sunnydale Buffy is trying to come to terms with a new and different life, juggling her work as a counsellor with looking after Dawn and keeping an eye on Spike and his fragile sanity. A demonic invincible army is the last thing that she needs...
